    Our client is a leading global manufacturer of electrical products and systems for use within the Power Generation Industry. For more than 50 years the company has successfully designed and delivered creative, innovative, and sustainable solutions that drive motion and energy efficiency across a variety of target markets and industries.  They are amid a period of exponential growth, and as a result are seeking to add a new General Manager to continue scaling one of their highest performing, fastest growing business segments.

    POSITION OVERVIEW

    In this role, the successful candidate will provide strategic leadership to drive growth, improve profitability, and expand market share within their assigned business unit. They will bring a proven track record of managing rapidly growing P&L operations, extensive experience in industrial manufacturing, and a demonstrated ability to achieve commercial success.

    The General Manager will lead a team of 300+ team members globally, overseeing operational excellence, driving innovation, and developing talent. You will play a central role in executing growth strategies and ensuring world-class performance in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost—focusing on delivering exceptional results for all stakeholders.

    The role is based in Langley BC.  Our client is open to relocating the successful candidate from anywhere in Canada.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Strategic Leadership: Lead the development and execution of short and long-term business objectives, including financial and operating plans.
    • Commercial Acumen: Leverage deep commercial experience to drive revenue growth, exceed P&L targets, and strategically position the business for future success.
    • Talent Development: Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement, developing a high-performing team that excels in achieving business goals.
    • Operational Excellence: Ensure world-class performance in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost by managing and improving operational processes and overseeing business systems.
    • Innovation & Growth: Champion product innovation and business growth through customer-centric strategies, leveraging market trends, and driving efficiencies.
    • Compliance & Customer Satisfaction: Ensure adherence to all local, state, and federal regulations while maintaining a customer-first mentality to exceed expectations.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Experience: an overall experience of over 20 years, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership position with full P&L responsibility, ideally in a manufacturing, engineering, or power generation environment. Demonstrated commercial success in delivering business growth.
    • Education: An undergraduate degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field. An MBA is highly preferred.
    • Industry knowledge: Strong background in power generation, electrical systems, or industrial manufacturing - an asset.
    • Technical knowledge: Experience with 80/20 principles and Lean/Six Sigma methodologies for business simplification and operational improvements – an asset.
    • Skills: Proven expertise in commercial strategy, budgeting, resource allocation, and change management.

    • P&L Ownership: Experience in managing full P&L responsibility, driving financial performance and operational efficiency.

    • Leadership Excellence: Ability to engage, inspire, and develop a global team through coaching, mentorship, and transformational leadership.
    • Strategic Vision: Exceptional ability to balance long-term vision with tactical execution, driving results through effective planning and prioritization.
