Director of Manufacturing – Construction
Edmonton, ABJay Pinniger of Lock Search Group’s Construction Team has partnered with an International Manufacturer looking to build out their leadership team in Edmonton, Alberta.
Our client is a leader in their industry with decades of success delivering quality projects on time. Reporting to the executive team the Director of Manufacturing will be collaborating with Project managers, Engineering, Estimating & Procurement, and Onsite and Field Operations teams.This role will oversee the company’s manufacturing facilities and field construction operations, ensuring efficiency, profitability, and compliance with safety and quality standards. This role requires a dynamic leader with experience in construction management, a strong operational mindset, and the ability to foster collaboration and continually improve their teams.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all phases of construction projects, from design planning to close out reporting
- Monitor financial performance, including budgets, forecasts, and profitability metrics.
- Ensure all departments are aligned to a clear plan to ensure seamless communication
- Lead efforts to improve operational processes, efficiency, and resource utilization.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety, compliance, and regulatory standards.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with field and production employees, clients, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Evaluate and mitigate risks to ensure successful project delivery.
- Collaborate with executive leadership on strategic planning and business development initiatives.
- Excellent relationship building skills, with an ability to partner with a dynamic and diverse leadership team – internal stakeholder management is essential
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing market that mandates urgency and adjusting to trends
Qualifications:
- Post-Secondary Certificate/Degree in Engineering, or equivalent qualification as a designated Professional Engineer, or Technical School graduate in a construction-related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a construction management role within a Commercial or Industrial organization.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, leadership, and organizational skills
- Proficient in reading, understanding, and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
- Proven ability to manage tasks across all phases of the construction process, from project initiation to closeout.
- Ability to efficiently manage and assist with multiple tasks.
- Analytical thinker capable of interpreting information to understand issues.
- Decision-making ability across various levels of complexity, ambiguity, and risk.
- Skill in defining tasks and milestones to achieve objectives and ensure optimal resource utilization.
- In-depth knowledge of the construction process.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
