Position Overview:
As the Business Development Manager, you’ll be responsible for driving sales and expanding our client’s Fire & Gas Detection Systems business throughout Canada. You’ll identify new opportunities, develop strategic sales plans, and foster lasting partnerships with key stakeholders, particularly in the oil, gas, and chemical sectors. This role requires frequent travel, high-level customer engagement, and a strong understanding of technical products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute sales strategies targeting large, high-value clients and projects within the Fire & Gas Detection Systems market.
- Proactively identify new project opportunities through databases, market research, and industry networks.
- Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders such as engineers, industry experts, certification bodies, and regulatory groups.
- Stay current on Fire & Gas Detection Systems technology, certifications, and industry standards to deliver informed solutions.
- Lead impactful sales presentations, webinars, and networking events to showcase the value of our client’s products and secure new business.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including regional sales managers, product specialists, and channel partners, to ensure seamless project execution.
- Effectively manage CRM systems to track sales opportunities, maintain records, and oversee company assets, including equipment and vehicles.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree (technical field, or equivalent education and experience).
- 5 +years of experience in selling highly technical products, ideally within the Fire & Gas Detection, oil, gas, or chemical industries.
- Proven success in strategic account management and value-based selling.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, Adobe, and CRM software.
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel domestically and internationally.
- Ability to lift and transport equipment exceeding 25 lbs.
- Bilingual in French and English is a strong asset.
